The Role
As a Senior SMSF Manager
, you will take a leadership role in managing the firm’s high-value SMSF portfolio
, overseeing compliance, and driving process improvements. You will work closely with the onshore and offshore teams
, ensuring seamless service delivery and mentoring junior staff. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to contribute to business services and tax
engagements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation and review of SMSF financial statements, tax returns, and compliance documents
- Ensure all ATO and ASIC compliance requirements are met
- Provide technical leadership and advisory support on superannuation and tax matters
- Manage workflow and quality control across both onshore and offshore teams
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, auditors, and external stakeholders
- Drive process improvements and efficiencies within the SMSF division
- Mentor and develop junior accountants, fostering a strong team culture
The ideal candidate will have:
- 6+ years’ experience in SMSF accounting within a public practice firm
- Extensive knowledge of SMSF compliance, superannuation law, and tax regulations
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing a team and workflow
- Proficiency in Class Super, BGL, or similar SMSF software
- CPA or CA qualified, bonus with SMSF Association membership
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including working with offshore teams
- A proactive approach to process improvement and client service
- Flexible working arrangements – including work-from-home options, flexibility commuting getting in and out of work.
